Unplugging

First, an apology. It has been two weeks since I completed my Whole30. I had planned to do a final recap, but I just didn’t have the time to do it. Life has been fairly hectic lately and an emotional roller coaster (more on this in the next post). And because of this, I have decided to extend my Whole30 to a Whole60. But one thing that I did learn over the past month is that in order to feel your best and be your best, it has to go beyond just the food you eat.

Whole9 believes there are 9 factors which are important for optimal health.  Nutrition is the foundation, but there are 8 other factors to consider: sleep, healthy movement, stress management, socialization, natural environment, fun & play, personal growth and temperance.

So far, I am doing pretty darn well with nutrition, sleep and healthy movement.  The other 6 factors need a little more work.  Inspired by a post by Whole9 called “Unplug, Then Plug It Back In”, I have decided to unplug. Starting tomorrow, I am going to take a two-week break from all social media. This includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and even this blog. I’ve never done this before, so I am not sure what to expect. I am sure there will be some withdrawals at first. But I am hoping with the extra time I gain, I will be able to spend more quality time with my family, get outside more and have more fun.

Is anyone with me?!?
